Albright College
Albright College is a small school (1,650 undergrads) with big ideas. Located just outside of Reading, PA, Albright College offers over 40 majors (some are combinable) ranging from Digital Media to
Environmental Studies. Sciences are strong at Albright. Environmental Science, Biochemistry, Physics and Marine Science are just a few of the programs that round out the sciences at Albright. A new science center is currently being built to offer state of the art facilities. The Fashion program offers small classes with personal attention to students interested in Fashion Design, Costume Design or Fashion Merchandising. Maybe you are not sure what you want to major in. Albright offers the Albright Alpha Program. The Alpha Program gives undecided students all the tools they need to find the right major.
Albright has recently made submission of the SAT and ACT an optional requirement for admission. An on campus interview is a requirement if you decided not to submit your test scores. Albright’s administration is committed to making sure you feel comfortable as soon as you set foot on campus. As a new student, you will attend an orientation that allows you to meet other students and to get to know the campus better. Maybe this is where you learn of the Albright tradition of being “ponded”. Ponded? Yes, ponded. On your birthday, you will be be given a friendly dunking in the Albright pond!
Does writing your first college paper make your hands sweat? Not to worry. The Writing Center on campus can help you get the help you need. There is also an Academic Learning Center that offers students with learning differences a place to receive support. A Multi Ethnic Student Affairs office helps ensure that students of color feel comfortable. And speaking of comfortable….how about relaxing outdoors with friends on the bright red Adirondack chairs that are grouped in cheery clusters?
Varsity football, soccer, volleyball, and basketball are a few of the Division III sports at Albright. Wear your red and white and cheer on your favorite team. There is lots to cheer about at Albright. Check out their website at http://www.albright.edu/ and see for yourself!!!
